Happy Day To You!
I am so excited!! My last mare foaled and I now have ALL fillies, oh yeah. I can’t remember how long it has been since this has happened. I would have loved a stud colt, don’t get me wrong, but this is a dream come true! I am so very blessed, and so thankful.
These fillies are a very important part of my breeding program. I am also looking forward to great things from them in the show pen. Already looking forward to the first time I climb on their backs. But, I am getting ahead of myself. There is a lot of prep time before then, and I love every second of it!
I haven’t bred any of the mares back this year. I’ll probably really regret this decision next Spring when there are no babies coming, but right now this feels good. The great thing is, if I am missing having the foals, my friends are always happy to have me bring some of their mares home and foal them out for them. Yeah, I think I’ll be fine with my decision.

The guest house!
Good Morning To You!
Another precious filly joined us this morning! All Spring the mares have been foaling from one to two weeks early, this one foaled exactly on the due date. Goes to show when we think we’ve got it dialed in what these horses are going to do, the we get our lifes’ lesson.
If this mama mare had her choice, she’d take her baby far away so I’d not be able to get my hands on her. You just don’t know how a first foal mare is going to behave after foaling. I would sure rather have them over protective, like this one, than not caring at all. She’ll settle down in a day or so.
One more mare to foal, and then can go back to sleeping regularly, well, that’s a good plan anyway!? This last one is due on April 24, and she doesn’t look like she’ll go that long, but what do I know?
I’m going to the barn and try to get some pictures of the baby without the mare blocking the way. We’ll see how that goes! Have a beautiful day!!

Happy Day To You!
How many different horse feeds do we really need? It seems that I spend a ridiculous amount of time just running here and there for all the different feeds that my horses eat. Today I’m heading out to Teskeys, now this is a fun place for any horse person. They just opened their feed barn last year and this is where I get the mares and babies ration. I can spend hours in the main store, it seems they carry everything. Any one who has been there knows what I mean. I love their horse supplies and the saddles, well, it would take hours to go through all of them, enough said?
For the ropers, they have a huge inventory of ropes and equipment and the nicest retired roper to answer all your questions. Personally, I’m not a big fan of their clothes, seems they have tried to incorporate California surf with western & the result is not my style! Being from California, I have a hard time trying to see where they think what they carry is what the surfers & beach people actually wear. Guess this proves you can’t be everything to everybody!
It’s a fun place with knowledgeable staff, and I’m very happy its here in Weatherford! Now go out and hug your horses, can’t think of a better way to start your day!

Glad You’re back!
I’m counting the days until the next mare is due to foal. The one Starlights Gypsy daughter is due on April 15, but I don’t think she’ll go that long. This is her first baby & she is showing all signs that she will bring this one into the world a bit early. What a great time of the year!
The Super Stakes started Monday, March 30th, and we haven’t even made it to the show yet. I don’t have anything entered at this one, but there are a lot of my horses’ relatives showing so I will be there.
My other business has really taken a back seat to the horses lately, and that’s just fine. I love that I’m able to run an Internet business with plenty of time for the horses. As I have mentioned in previous posts, when I find a good resource that can help you to live your dream life, I will pass it along. I have just that in this link. This is an affiliate program developed by a person who has been living his dream life and I think you just might want to take a serious look.

HI, I’m Glad You’re Here!
This rainy weather has the mares and babies feeling good! What amazing moves these little ones have. Now that I know they have the talent and athletic ability, the real test will be when they first face a cow in a few years. It’s fun comparing what their mothers did when they were this age & how they turned out.
We all spend so much time studying the pedigrees and the horses to try & figure out who should be the best matches to produce what we are looking for. When its all said & done, the best pedigree and all the athletic ability in the world doesn’t mean a thing if they don’t love what they do!
What is so wonderful about these horses, even though our pride and joy doesn’t always
end up doing what we planned on, they can always go on & excel at something more suited to their personality. Aren’t horses great!!!??
Everyone around here has been getting ready for the Super Stakes Cutting Horse show which starts Monday march 30th. It just doesn’t seem possible that another year has gone by, but zip zap,it has.
Time to get out to the barn and spoil the babies.

Welcome Back, Happy Day To Everyone!
I met a very talented equine artist while on a Blog Talk radio show with Robert Imbriale, known as The Motivational Marketer. Her name is Pat Wooldridge and her art definitely captures the essence of the horses she draws.
I will get more details on her and her artwork so you all can see what she does. I think all the animal lovers will enjoy her work and the passsion that she has for her business. This lady is certainly celebrating her wealth.
I have been sifting through some old horse pictures, both show photos and ranch photos. What great memories! Now it’s time to capture new memories of this years foals, I hope I can do them justice. They are so, so precious & I don’t know if a still photo ever truly captures their personalities.
I get so tied up working with them & just loving them, I forget to get the pictures. What a problem, huh?!
I’m going to include the link for Roberts’ Blog Talk radio show. I think you may really enjoy listening to him. Some of the resources on this blog are products that he has produced, and I have really enjoyed his work.
I hope the resources that I bring to you will enrich you lives also!

Glad you’re back!
Our usual beautiful sunrise was covered by clouds this morning. Not complaining though, we really are needing the rain these clouds are bringing. The change in the weather has all the horses really jazzed up, and the babies are discovering moves they didn’t know they had!
It’s been real dry here, and yet the pastures & hay fields are getting beautifully green, how cool is that? The coastal hay doesn’t really begin to grow until the temperature stays above 65, so it really is Spring!!
Still adjusting to the change of clocks last weekend. The horses don’t seem to be at all concerned, but I’m still in a fog. I’m all for it staying light later, but right now its dark when we go out to feed in the morning.
Trimmed some of the mares feet & getting the babies used to their tiny hooves being worked with.
The foals personalities are really beginning to develop. I get to spend a lot of time with other breeders babies & we all really enjoy learning from each other. Heading to the training barn for a while, it just hard to pull myself away from the mares & babies. Can sit for hours just watching them. Guess that’s why not much else gets done for business, oh well.
I hope you will all enjoy your precious animals, and join me in “Celebrating Wealth” today!
