I’m continuing my rant today about about high cell phone prices & pitiful service!  There have been far too many times when I have needed service for a horse situation & there has been some screw-up on the carriers side.  I for one, am thrilled to finally have an option, and a great one at that.  This new technology will truly change the way we communicate!  No more roaming charges, No more dead zones, No more Credit Checks, and No more Contracts that lock you in to service that doesn’t perform.  Not to mention Internet speed at 100 MBPS or more!  As a comparison, I asked my Internet Service Provider what speed I had, they were so proud to tell me it was between 8-12 MBPS, and I have the fastest available.  Almost laughed in their face, but I stayed cool.

This service really is the on the cutting edge of technology.  Its a service whose time has definitely come.  I know that I will certainly feel much more confident when I’m out with the horses or zooming merrily down the road.  Hooray for companies who aren’t afraid to step outside of the box, they are the ones who make our world so much better and safer for us.

Love them or hate them, cell phones are big business!  There are more people who have cell phones than have Internet access, amazing isn’t it?!  Our communication is the last thing we want to be without. How nice to be connected to the World with the touch of a button.  Convenient, yes, but your cell phones bills can break the bank.  Just go over your texting limit & you are socked with a ridiculous bill increase.  Don’t get me started on the taxes, what a joke, just not too funny!

Have you thought about having a home based business to finance your horses?  Really, it just makes so much sense.  You want the freedom of time to spend with your animals.  You want to be able to make a lot of money, because let’s face it, horses can be very expensive.  Think about it,looking out of your home based office and watching your horses, what a stress reliever. I realize that not everyone can just quit their present job and jump into self employment, but there are many online businesses that you can work on while still being employed somewhere else.

I have always had my own business, not always an online business though.  I used to be out and about calling on clients, managing my sales reps,etc.  Even though it was my own marketing company, I still spent time away from the ranch and the horses. I always felt there had to be a better way, even though I really did have it good!

I started learning about how our feelings are such a vital part of what kind of life we are able to live.  This led me to looking at other options to success, and I discovered that there is so much more than what I had thought there was.  Looking back, I can now see that I could have had so much more success with much less stress.  Without the previous experiences, I wouldn’t have known what I really did desire for my life, now that’s a good thing!

I have some resources for you that have been very helpful to me in my journey to where I am today.  I hope you will take advantage of them.  My intent with this is to help each of you be able to spend more, and happier times with your precious horses without stressing about how to pay for everything.

I am so excited!! My last mare foaled and I now have ALL fillies, oh yeah.  I can’t remember how long it has been since this has happened.  I would have loved a stud colt, don’t get me wrong, but this is a dream come true!  I am so very blessed, and so thankful.

These fillies are a very important part of my breeding program.  I am also looking forward to great things from them in the show pen. Already looking forward to the first time I climb on their backs.  But, I am getting ahead of myself.  There is a lot of prep time before then, and I love every second of it!

I haven’t bred any of the mares back this year.  I’ll probably really regret this decision next Spring when there are no babies coming, but right now this feels good.  The great thing is, if I am missing having the foals, my friends are always happy to have me bring some of their mares home and foal them out for them.  Yeah, I think I’ll be fine with my decision.

The Super Stakes Cutting Horse show semi finals is this afternoon.  Seems like the show was just starting, where does time go and why does it go so fast?  There are some real standouts in this, as there always is.  Have several good friends who have made the cut and I wish they could all walk away with the top spot.

All in all, the second jewel of our cutting horse triple crown has been a great show!  The first few days the cows were iffy, but that happens.  After all, these horses are supposed to perform no matter what the condtions or the quality of the cows.

This show has been a kick in the butt for me, since I don’t have anyone entered, it’s just been go watch, socialize, and have fun!

Good Morning To You!

Another precious filly joined us this morning!  All Spring the mares have been foaling from one to two weeks early, this one foaled exactly on the due date.  Goes to show when we think we’ve got it dialed in what these horses are going to do, the we get our lifes’ lesson.

If this mama mare had her choice, she’d take her baby far away so I’d not be able to get my hands on her.  You just don’t know how a first foal mare is going to behave after foaling.  I would sure rather have them over protective, like this one, than not caring at all.  She’ll settle down in a day or so.

One more mare to foal, and then can go back to sleeping regularly, well, that’s a good plan anyway!?  This last one is due on April 24, and she doesn’t look like she’ll go that long, but what do I know?

I’m going to the barn and try to get some pictures of the baby without the mare blocking the way.  We’ll see how that goes!  Have a beautiful day!!

This gorgeous Spring weather is making it real hard for me to sit inside and work on my Website Owners Partner business.  Not complaining now, I am thrilled to have a business that I can work from home and that has unlimited income potential.  Just have to actually spend some time on it!  It really is a fun business, I am building a team of affiliates, both individuals and website owners who are interested in making a very serious residual income.  This is perfect for me since I have plenty of time to spend with the horses and will have the resources to support my horse business!

As we all know, horses can be a very expensive venture and don’t always pay for themselves!  I can be contacting website owners while watching the mares and babies playing.  Now doesn’t that sound like the perfect business?  It is!!  It also is pretty cool being able to help these website owners make money from the visitors on their sites.  I have met some fun horse people along the way too, an extra benefit.

For the ropers, they have a huge inventory of ropes and equipment and the nicest retired roper to answer all your questions. Personally, I’m not a big fan of their clothes, seems they have tried to incorporate California surf with western & the result is not my style!  Being from California, I have a hard time trying to see where they think what they carry is what the surfers & beach people actually wear.  Guess this proves you can’t be everything to everybody!

It’s a fun place with knowledgeable staff, and I’m very happy its here in Weatherford! Now go out and hug your horses, can’t think of a better way to start your day!

I had an interesting, if you can call it that,  thing happen yesterday.  As I do every morning, I turn the mares and babies out of their stalls and runs to their pastures.  Well, when I got to the youngest filly, I had quite a surprise!  This dear little angel of a baby decided she was not going to get caught this morning.  She not only was not going to get caught, she decided to get her mother all fuzzed up as well!

This filly has always be a bigger challenge to get haltered and started in leading.  All babies are silly when they are learning something new and that’s really a good thing.  I have found the more trouble they are, the better they turn out.  My opinion is, the smarter ones will try you a lot more just to see how far they can push!  Well, this little girl must be a genius.

It took me almost 45 minutes to get a halter on her.  This is in a stall with a 30 foot run, good grief!  I almost forgot to mention, this is one that has moves that put some of the trained cutting horses on notice.  She gets down on her belly to make a corner and has done this since she was 5 days old.  When she is playing, she can kick above my head. The other day when she was nursing, guess she bit down a bit hard, and her mom gave her a nip.  Well, that didn’t set well with her & mom just missed getting her head kicked off.  So you can see where I’m going with this.

Happy to say, we finally got haltered and out to pasture, guess this one is going to take a litle more work?!  Let me add, when it was time to come in later, we almost had a replay of the mornings’ activities, only with a lot more room.  Glad she was a little tired from all her racing around.

Oh yeah, it’s time to go tackle my little angel that grew horns!
